Evelyn Graham Lewis, 58, of 4105 Midland Trail, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at her home.
Mrs. Lewis was born May 18, 1953, in Covington a daughter of William H. Graham Sr. of Covington and the late Harriet Griffith Graham Davidson.
In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Bubbie Graham.
Evelyn had retired in May of 2010 as a PCA 2 nurse at Alleghany Regional Hospital after 22 years of service as a registered nurse.
She was a former member of the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad.
She was an active member of the ALS Association.
Surviving in addition to her father are two daughters, Evelyn “Jeannie” Escobar and Kimberly Perez, both of Harrisonburg; one son, Phillip Thompson Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Covington; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Eloise Webb of Covington, Teresa Commerford and her husband, Jim, of Calimesa,Calif.,Kitty Davidson of Denver, Colo. and April Bowers of Waynesboro; two brothers, William H. “Peanut” Graham Jr. of Covington, Matt Davidson of Goshen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted this evening at 6 p.m. in the cahpel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
Following the service, the family will receive friends at Arritt Funeral Home, and at other times will be at the residence of Eloise Webb at 702 South Highland Ave.
The family suggests that donations in Evelyn’s name be made to the ALS Association, 507 Standish Place; Rockville, Md. 20855.
