Today’s Headline: Queen Gets To Covington On ‘Merry Widow.’
Shortly before 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, the “Merry Widow” chugged into Covington from the east carrying the “Movie Queen” Miss Mary Sue Hudnall, who will take the leading role in the forthcoming stage production of the same name, which is being sponsored by the Covington Kiwanis Club and will be shown at the Jeter Auditorium on May 21 and 22.
Mrs. Preston Burton of Rosedale is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Gathright in Bath County.

Today’s Headline: City Playground Personnel Chosen.
The Covington Recreation Board last night approved Recreation Department Personnel to be employed during the summer at the city playground.
Included are Boodie Albert, Stuart Keesee, Steve Shepard, Miss Ann Smith, Miss Betty Forbes and Dallas Arthur.
Rev. and Mrs. W.W. Whitington are vacationing in Georgia and Mississippi.

The Covington Ruritan Club will sponsor the Covington High School bands in concert May 30 as a fundraising projects for scholarships.
Bruce Edward Loving of Clifton Forge received the Colgate W. Darden Jr. Award Saturday night during commencement exercises at Mary Washington College.
