Today’s Headline: Automobiles Crash At Clifton Forge.
H.W. Hyler and Holland Sprouse narrowly escaped injury at noon today when their automobiles collided at the intersection of Rose and Howard in Clifton Forge.
The Covington High School Junior-Senior banquet and dance, which was held in the Jeter Auditorium Friday night, was possibly one of the most delightful affairs of its kind ever held in the auditorium.
There were 250 students and faculty members present.

Today’s Headline: Officials Inspect Site Of Proposed Community College.
Officials inspected the 142-acre tract of land just west of Clifton Forge as a site for the proposed community college by the C&O Railway Tuesday afternoon.
L.E. Weikle, manager of the Covington Airport, has announced that the facility will be open seven days a week in the future with air taxi services available.

Today’s Headline: Alleghany, Clifton Forge, Iron Gate Sign Sewer Pact.
Alleghany County and the city of Clifton Forge once again embraced in the spirit of intergovernmental cooperation by signing, in conjunction with the town of Iron Gate, a sewage treatment contract providing improved service to several thousand county residents in eastern Alleghany County.
Annual academic awards ceremonies were held last night at Covington High School and Jackson River Vocational School.

Constriction of an access bridge to the proposed site of a wastewater treatment plant for eastern Alleghany County will cost an estimated $3.9 million.
