The Chesapeake and Ohio Historical Society hosted its annual Railroad Heritage Festival Saturday at the C&OHS Railway Heritage Center in Clifton Forge.
In the top photo, three-year-old Maddie Lipscomb admires a G Scale model train.
The working outdoor model layout is one of the newer features at the center.
Maddie was attending the festival with her grandmother, Ida Sarafandi of Clifton Forge.
She is the daughter of Robert and Eisheh Lipscomb of Lexington.
In the bottom photo, three-year-old Shawn Franklin of Lynchburg sits in the fireman’s seat of C&O steam locomotive 614 while C&OHS volunteer Mac Goodwin explains the controls to him.
Shawn was attending with his mother, Jennifer Franklin of Lynchburg, and his grandmother, Diana Phelps.
The 614 was the premier attraction at Saturday’s festival.
