RICHMOND (AP) – Authorities have identified a body found in Richmond last week as that of a city resident missing for more than four years.
Police on Monday said 33-year-old Cleveland Peoples Jr. was reported missing in June 2006.
A city public works crew found his remains last Tuesday near the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center grounds. The area where Peoples’ body was discovered is near where he lived.
The medical examiner’s office identified Peoples’ remains through dental records. The Richmond Times-Dispatch said the cause of death remains under investigation.
