Burglary Investigation Underway in Clifton Forge

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, VA. (VR) – On August 12, 2026, deputies with the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stacks Lane in Clifton Forge, Virginia, regarding a reported burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that an unknown individual had unlawfully entered the residence and stolen a locked safe containing several firearms. Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle was used to forcibly remove the safe by pulling it through the exterior wall of the residence, causing significant damage to the home.

The scene was processed by deputies and investigators, and evidence was collected. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 965-1770 and request to speak with Investigator Morris. Individuals wishing to remain anonymous may call (540) 965-1776 and select Option 8 to leave information.

The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the public’s assistance and encourages anyone with information that may aid this investigation to come forward.
