Fourteen Chargers named to All-District soccer teams

HOT SPRINGS – Bath County was recently well represented for the Pioneer All-District boys’ soccer teams with a district team-high of 14 total players honored.
 
Among those players the Chargers had five on the All-District first team including Andrew Turner, Luke Turner, Braiden Mabe, Walker Randozzo, and Frankie DeBoe. A. Turner led the team with 17 goals, while L. Turner had 16. Mabe led the Chargers in steals with 53, while Randozzo had 31. Meanwhile, DeBoe had 136 total saves.
 
BCHS also had five players represented on the district’s second team including first year player Wyatt Campbell, Miguel Malpica, Noah Bolling, Luke Hooker, and Dillan Royer. The Chargers also had four players on the honorable team: Braxton Bragg, Carter Hooker, Dustin Woods, Noah Harmon.
 
Bath County finished 7-9 overall for the season and second in the district with a 5-2 record. For a second straight season the Chargers lost in the district championship game to Eastern Montgomery 8-0.
 
The season would conclude shortly after for BCHS when they were shutout 3-0 against Giles in the VHSL Class 1, Region C quarterfinals.
 
Talan Bruce from Eastern Montgomery was named the district player of the year, while Narrows head coach Jay Smith was named the coach of the year.
 

FIRST TEAM: Forwards – Andrew Turner, Luke Turner (Bath County), Talan Bruce, Aija McHone (Eastern Montgomery), Nick Thompson (Narrows)

Midfielders – Braiden Mabe (Bath County), Osman Amaya, Spencer Sisson, Kevin Vascelanos (Eastern Montgomery), Jackson Leighton (Narrows)
Defenders – Walker Randozzo (Bath County), Grayson Richardson, Kelsey Greer, Caleb Sampson (Eastern Montgomery), Alexis Leighton (Narrows)
Goalie – Frankie DeBoe (Bath County) 
 
SECOND TEAM: Forwards – Wyatt Campbell (Bath County), Isaiah Nichols (Craig County), Clayton Holloway (Eastern Montgomery). Carissa Kohel, Lexi DeLung (Narrows)
Midfielders – Miguel Malpica, Noah Bolling (Bath County), Jose Mejia Martinez (Eastern Montgomery), Owen Helmendollar, Andrew Meredith (Narrows)
Defenders – Luke Hooker, Dillan Royer (Bath County), Colby Wolfe (Craig County), Nick Smith (Eastern Montgomery), Alyssa DeLung (Narrows)
Goalie – Jameson Helton (Narrows)
 
HONORABLE MENTION: Braxton Bragg, Carter Hooker, Dustin Woods, Noah Harmon (Bath County), Desiree Will, Sean Villar, Tanner Owens, Elijah Green, Aiden Crawford (Craig County), Andrew Long, Evan Webb (Narrows), Gunner Lawson (Eastern Montgomery)
