Four Cougars named to All-Three Rivers District Baseball Teams

LOW MOOR – Newly added this past season to the Three Rivers District was Patrick County who ran through the district with a 19-2 overall record and 11-1 in district games.
 
The same Cougars team who controlled the district finished with most players on the All-District teams with eight, including the district player of the year Tucker Swails, and the coach of the year, Tal Swails.
 
Meanwhile the other Cougars from Alleghany had four players be selected to the All-District teams. Hunter DePriest was a two-time first team selection at two positions as an outfielder and a designated hitter. DePriest was second on the team in batting average with .357.
 
Eli Weese and Chris Harden were also first team selections. Harden led the team in average with a slashing .397 batting average. Weese was third on the team in average with a .356. Both DePriest and Weese each had a pair of home runs.
 
Anthony Webb was a second team third base selection. Webb was tied with Brady May for second on the team in RBIs with 18.
 
Alleghany finished with a 14-6 record and was second in the district with a 9-3 record. As the 7-seed in the VHSL Class 3, Region C tournament the Cougars were shutout 8-0 against 2-seeded Fluvanna County.
 
Tucker Swails from Patrick County was named the district player of the year, while the PC Cougars head coach Tal Swails was named the coach of the year.

Catcher: Britt Berrier (Carroll County)
First Base: Ben Phillips (Carroll County)
Second Base: Eli Weese (Alleghany)
Third Base: Jackson Horton (Patrick County)
Shortstop: Tucker Swails (Patrick County)
Outfielders: Chris Harden, Hunter DePriest (Alleghany), Stuart Callahan (Patrick County)
Designated Hitter: Hunter DePriest (Alleghany)
SECOND TEAM – Pitchers: Dawson Anderson (Glenvar), Stuart Callahan (Patrick County), Mason Murphy (Radford).
Catcher: Isaiah Cantrell (Floyd County)
First Base: Broc Taylor (Patrick County)
Second Base: Noah Jessup (Patrick County)
Third Base: Anthony Webb (Alleghany)
Shortstop: Hunter Mays (James River)
Outfielders: Maddox Lyons (Carroll County), Josh Keith (Floyd County), Reed Hutchinson (Glenvar)
Designated Hitter: Zach Turpin (Floyd County)
PLAYER OF THE YEAR – Tucker Swails (Patrick County)
COACH OF THE YEAR – Tal Swails (Patrick County)
