Kiera Lowman Wins 4th Consecutive State Title

For the fourth consecutive time in a row, sophomore Kiera Lowman has won the state title in Virginia. Smoking the competition, Lowman was the only female runner in the girls 3200-Meter Run who came in under 11 minutes, and with plenty of time to spare!

The state meet was held at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, on May 31 and June 1 last week. Lowman was among 4 other track members —not counting the relay teams— who competed individually during the 2-day event. Among those was senior Max Madsen who claimed second place in the long jump. Listed below are the complete results from the VHSL Class 3 State Championships 2024.

Girls

100-METER DASH

Ja’kara Heighter came in 15th with a time of 13.02.

 

1600-METER RUN

Kiera Lowman came in 8th with a time of 5:14.47.

 

3200-METER RUN

Kiera Lowman came in 1st with a time of 10:43.76.

 

4X800-METER RELAY

The Girls Relay Team came in 10th place with a time of 10:22.85.

 

Boys

100-METER DASH

Max Madsen came in 10th place with a time of 11.29.

 

200-METER DASH

Brady Prior came in 14th place with a time of 22.72.

 

400-METER DASH

Brady Prior came in 4th place with a time of 50.22.

Miles Christian came in 22nd place with a time of 52.19.

 

4X400-METER RELAY

The Boys Relay Team came in 10th place with a time of 3:30.89.

 

4X800-METER RELAY

The Boys Relay Team came in 14th place with a time of 8:33.38.

 

HIGH JUMP

Xzavier Hayslett came in 16th place with a height of 5-11.

 

LONG JUMP

Max Madsen came in 2nd place with a distance of 22-9.5.

 

TRIPLE JUMP

Max Madsen came in 6th place with a distance of 45-4.
