Former Covington Manager, Douglas Taking Over As County Admin of Sussex County

Former Covington City Manager Richard Douglas will be taking the reins as county administrator of Sussex County beginning September 1.
Douglas announced on his Facebook page Thursday night the Sussex County Board of Supervisors had approved the appointment.
“I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to return to local government management,” Douglas said in his post. “However, I will miss working for the community of Colonial Beach and its many wonderful people I have met over the past year.”
Douglas served as Covington city manager from 2016 through 2019.
At the time of Thursday’s appointment, he was serving as Planning and Economic Development director for the town of Colonial Beach.
