HOT SPRINGS – It’s no secret that the Bath County Chargers have been playing just as well as anyone on the volleyball court this season.
Their reward for such an amazing regular season? A Pioneer District title for the first time in 14 years.
Following their tough loss days before to Parry McCluer; Bath County came back in big way on Thursday, October 20th, with a straight set victory over Narrows to claim the district crown in front of their home fans.
Seniors Hannah Armstrong and Lindsay Oliver led the way for the Chargers, as Armstrong had 19 digs, while Oliver had a match-high 10 kills. Meanwhile, sophomore Kenley Smith finished with 23 assists.
Bath County finished the regular season with a 15-5 overall record, while going 9-1 in the district.
The Chargers swept the regular season series with the Green Wave. The win and district regular season title also means that BCHS is the top-seed in the district tournament.
