Linda Kellison Adams
Linda Kellison Adams, age 75, of 4402 Pheasant Ridge Road, Roanoke, Virginia, and formerly of Falling Spring Valley and Clifton Forge, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Harmony Collection Adult Living in Roanoke.
Linda was born November 10, 1947, to the late James Ralph and Ruth Robinson Kellison. She was a 1966 graduate of Alleghany County High School and received her A.A.S. in 1968 from Averett College. She was a retired telephone receptionist for the Omni Homestead Resort, but her work experience also included secretarial work for Dabney S. Lancaster Community College and elsewhere. She gave freely of her time, always doing for others. She volunteered for numerous organizations and in various church positions. Her faith and family were very important to her. She was a member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church, where she was a deacon and chair of the deacons, held a position on the counting committee, helped with disaster relief ministry for many hurricanes and locally during the derecho, and participated in several mission trips. She loved clogging with her dance group, quilting, aerobics, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harold Stephen “Steve” Adams, and a sister, Sue McRoberts.
She is survived by two sons, Mason Jeremy Adams of Floyd and Andrew Seth Adams of Denver, CO; two stepsons, Harold J. Adams and Stephen Dean Adams and wife Lori; a sister, Jamie Bird and husband Dan of Covington; a brother-in-law, Tom McRoberts of Covington; a grandson, Noah Adams; a granddaughter, Genevieve Sparrow Adams; three step grandchildren, Hope Adams, Kelly Grainger, and Abbey Adams; as well as three nieces and a nephew, and a number of other sisters-in-law and family members.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Tom Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant United Methodist Cemetery, Covington. Pallbearers will consist of friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
