MONTEREY – Following their win at home over Eastern Montgomery in their Pioneer District opener, the Bath County Chargers (7-4) went right back to business on Thursday, September 14th with their second straight three-set sweep victory as they defeated the Highland Rams in district play.

Lindsay Olver led the way for Bath County with nine kills in the teams three-set win over Highland. It was another sensational night for Kenley Smith who dished out a match-high 25 assists, while Hannah Armstrong paced the seven-win Chargers with six digs. Bayley Gardzinski added six aces.

Winning on the road can be a tough thing to do but following their three-set win just the other night over the Mustangs, Bath County once again played dominantly throughout each set. Most notably in the first set win in which the Chargers had opened with a 14-2 advantage. While in the third set the winners had scored 16-points straight following a 1-1 tie to take a commanding 17-1 advantage.

The win improved the Chargers to 2-0 in the district and was the team’s first road victory as they improved to 1-3 in away games.
