Wayne William Andrews Sr., 91, of Covington, died, Thursday July 15, 2020 at Lewis Gale- Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.
Mr. Andrews was born August 17, 1928, in Frost, WV, a son of the late Cecil G. and Beulah Carpenter Andrews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Dolly May Puffenbarger Andrews, in 2009, and two brothers, Keith Andrews and Lyle Andrews.
He retired from the former Hercules INC, and worked maintenance for Dominion VA Power. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from the Army Reserve. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church as well as the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love for gardening and canning beets.
Surviving are his  Daughter, Norma Nicely, and her husband, Tony, of Covington; two Sons, Wayne Andrews Jr. and his wife, Edwina, and Michael Andrews and his wife, Bridget, all of Covington; five grandchildren, Cassi Andrews of Greensboro, NC,  Mikayla Vess and her husband, Ben, Cecil Andrews and his wife, Stephany, all of Covington, Tyler Freeman and his Wife, Ashley, and Logan Freeman all of Huntington, WV; five great grandchildren, Peyton Colvin, Mason Maloney, Quincey Andrews, Quinten Harris, and Michael O’Briant; his Sister, Maxine King, of Norfolk and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday July 18, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Woodie officiating.
The family will receive their friends one hour prior to the service at Arritt Funeral Home.
The interment will be at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery with graveside rites held by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
