FOOD DRIVE — The Clifton Forge High School Alumni Association recently held a food drive to assist the Clifton Forge Area Food Pantry.
On Saturday, May 2, with only a week’s notice, residents of Clifton Forge left 500 pounds of food on their porches for seven volunteers to drive by and collect.
Members of the association said they were amazed and very thankful, but that their story did not stop there.
They also went onto Facebook to request that all members send donations to the food pantry directly or via the association’s GoFundMe account.
The association said they have not been disappointed, and they recently received word from Debbie West, director of the Clifton Forge Area Food Pantry, that the pantry has received over $5,500 between online and personal donation given in the CFHS Alumni name.
The alumni association is planning another Food and Fund Drive for the food pantry later this year.
Donations can be sent to Clifton Forge Area Food Pantry, P.O. Box 361, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422.
