Dear Valued Subscribers,

We want to extend our deepest gratitude for your continued support and for taking the time to share your thoughts with us about the content in The Virginian Review. Feedback from readers like you is a vital part of our mission to serve our community, and we value your input immensely.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, you’ll see the Virginian Review newspaper return to only reporting on local news from Alleghany and Bath counties. We are decoupling the West Virginia Daily News and The Virginian Review. We understand and wholeheartedly agree with your desire to see more local news in our publication.

Since our humble beginnings in 1914, our newspaper has proudly served as a trusted source of community news, highlighting local achievements, events, sports, challenges and aspirations. Our commitment to being the community’s voice is unwavering, and we pledge to honor that tradition, now and always.

By refocusing our coverage on local news, we aim to strengthen the connection between members of our community and provide a platform for stories that matter most to you. We believe that in an increasingly globalized world, maintaining this local focus is more important than ever. This ensures that the news we deliver resonates with your experiences, your interests and your concerns.

Our mission is not just to inform, but also to engage, inspire and create a sense of belonging. That’s why we are recommitting ourselves to our original vision of covering only local news. It’s about celebrating the richness of our community, its individuals, its businesses and its institutions. We trust that this commitment will result in a more valuable, relevant, and impactful news experience for you.

Your voice has been heard, and your input appreciated. We want to assure you that your needs are at the heart of our decision-making process. Thank you once again for your feedback and for standing with us as we continue to serve this vibrant community in the best possible way.

As we continue this journey together, we look forward to building an even stronger community and trusted news source with you.
