HOT SPRINGS, VA – For the third time in the 2023 soccer season, the Bath County Chargers upended the Covington Cougars following an 8-0 shutout victory the one of the Pioneer District tournament semifinals.

Leading Bath County to their eighth win of the season was Kamoy Stone who put together another four-goal performance.

Not to be out-shined by Stone’s four goals, Andrew Turner also had a big match for Bath County as he delivered a hat-trick performance with three goals of his own. Cole Simpson provided the Chargers with a goal as well.

On the defensive side of the ball for Bath County, Frankie DeBoe dominated the nets with 13 saves.

While Covington was shutout, it was another big defensive performance from Dylan Pommert who had 14 steals to lead the Cougars.

In the other tournament semifinal, the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs were also victorious 8-0 over the Narrows Green Waves. Bath County will play the Mustangs in District tournament finals, while Cougars and Green Waves will play in the consolation match.
