Martel Alexander Jordan
Martel Alexander Jordan, 33, of Roanoke, VA passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2023. He was born on April 16, 1990, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital to Prenetha Jordan and Jerome Kelly.
He was a former student of Alleghany County High School. He received his GED in November 2010. Upon entering the work field, He performed security detail in the entertainment industry and worked as an independent contractor installing home appliances. Martel was baptized at Slate Hill Baptist Church in Roanoke, VA at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Harold G. Preston.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Linda M. Jordan. Those left to cherish his memory are: his mother Prenetha Jordan and stepfather Bobby Walker of Roanoke, VA; his father Jerome Kelly of Lewisburg, WV; an Extended Mother Louise Washington from Covington, VA.; his fiancé Courtney Marshall, his children Kiana (Kim) Williamson; Xavier (Patricia Mya) Vanutrech; Makari (Shamika Dorcus) Jordan; and Maverick (Blayne) Oliver. and Caden and Kinsley (Courtney) Ekland; Brothers, William Jordan and Maurice Jordan; Sister, Danesha (Chris) Thompson; Aunts, Renae Jordan and Charleszetta (Chris) Wade; Extended Family, Grandmother Elizabeth and Grandfather Gerald Keys of Lewisburg, WV; Aunts, Alisa Keys, Tina Ferguson; Uncles, Ricky (Silvia) Kelly, Wilford (Kim) Keys and James (Bobbie) Keys; a host of nephews, niece, cousins and friends.
Also surviving great aunts Opelia Porterfield and her husband Bruce and Rev. Tammie Preston and her Timmy all of Covington.
The funeral service will be Friday, May 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with The Rev. Tammy Preston officiating.
The interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family Will receive their friends one hour before the service.
Arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
