PEARISBURG – On the road for the fourth time in their last six games Bath County dropped their fourth straight following a 4-0 loss to Giles in a non-district varsity girls soccer match in Pearisburg.
The Spartans out of the Mountain Empire district scored a pair of goals in both the first and second half.
GHS was led by Kerrigan Mitcham who scored two goals to lead the way for the Spartans, while both Ada Steele and Rain Smith each had a goal apiece. The team’s goalkeeper Finn Lucas had six saves.
Despite not pushing the ball through the nets, the Chargers did move the ball well down the field on offense and finished with six shots on goal. Laci Ryder and Samantha Horne both had two shots on goal to lead BCHS, while Allana Black and Kenley Smith each had one.
On the defensive side Reaghan Pritt led Bath County with six steals. Meanwhile, both Samantha Woodson and Sierra Gardener each had five. The Chargers standout goalkeeper Zoey Jenkins finished with four goals allowed and 12 total saves.
Bath County (1-8-1) are off until May 3rd when they play on the road in Staunton against Grace Christian High School.
