LOW MOOR, VA – It’s been a few years since the Glenvar Lady Highlanders (10-2/5-0) swept the regular season series with Alleghany Lady Mountaineers (0-11-1/0-6) on the soccer field.
This past Thursday behind a four-goal performance from Giuliana Stanley, the Highlanders swept its regular season series with the Mountaineers following an 8-0 shutout victory.
Along with Stanley, the Highlanders grabbed two goals each from Campbell Hardin and Davin Tate.
The Mountaineers going into halftime were only down 2-0 before the Highlanders erupted for six goals in the second half.
Despite eight goals getting through, Mountaineer goalkeeper Kendal Madison finished the game with a save percentage just over 66% as she recorded 24 saves.
The Mountaineers will look for their first win of the season on Monday when they head to Hillsville as they visit the Carroll County Lady Cavaliers. The Cavaliers were victorious over the Mountaineers on April 20th, winning 8-0 at Mountaineer Field.
