On March 13, at 12:11 a. m., a deputy with the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop involving Chad Michael Harrison, 36, of Covington, and Brystol Shyann Spangler, 26, also of Covington.
The newest member of the sheriff’s office, K-9 “Doc,” was deployed and gave a positive alert for narcotics in the vehicle. Approximately 40 grams of methamphetamine, psilocybin (mushrooms), marijuana, hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia were located and seized. Harrison and Spangler were arrested and charged with the possession and distribution of narcotics.
Harrison is currently incarcerated awaiting trial; Spangler was released on bond.
