COVINGTON, VA – On Thursday, March 16th, Covington High School student athlete, Luke Conner, signed his letter of intent to play football for Concord University.
With his family, friends, and coaches by his side at the CHS gymnasium, Conner, the standout linebacker, readied for his next chapter on the football field.
Conner helped lead the Covington Cougars back to the playoffs this past football season, where he led all defensive players in the area with 109 total tackles. Conner was also second in receptions for the Cougars with 17 catches and recorded two touchdowns as well.
This past football season, Conner was also named to the All-Pioneer District football first team and was also the district defensive player of the year.
The Concord Mountain Lions are coming off of a 9-2 season.
Most recently, Conner represented CHS at the Class 1 state wrestling championships. He went 2-2 at the state wrestling championships and was 20-8 overall on the season.
Conner is currently a member of the Cougars varsity baseball team.
