ATLANTA — WestRock Co. said Monday it has been hit with a ransomware attack that affected its operational and information technology systems.
The attack occurred Saturday.
WestRock’s security teams are working with cyber defense firms to fix the issue, the company said in a news release.
Law enforcement was also notified.
“Systems recovery efforts are in process and being implemented as quickly as possible, and teams are working to maintain the company’s business operations and to minimize the impact on its customers and teammates,” WestRock said in its press release.
WestRock, at Atlanta-based manufacturer of paper and packaging products, has operations in Covington and Low Moor.
