Dear Editor,
What in the world happened in Clifton Forge Tuesday night, Nov. 10?
In five months, our town manager has devolved from a fully qualified, experienced town manager to an experienced city administrator with great potential to the mayor of a town one-tenth our size.
The last search for town manager was conducted by a team of highly qualified citizens, with 11 candidates. Reba Mohler was approved 5-0.
This time, the selection took less than a week, with only two candidates and a vote of 3-2.
We believe council should follow the previously successful selection process when choosing a non-interim town manager. Ideally, a unanimous vote would show council’s strong support for the new town manager.
