CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (TVR) – AHPS recently crowned its first spelling bee champion as a joint school division. The Alleghany Highlands Public Schools Spelling Bee champion was Emily Haynes. Haynes will represent AHPS in regional competition this month at William Fleming High School in Roanoke. The AHPS Spelling Bee was held on Feb. 23 at Clifton Middle School. Haynes was among the 10 contestants who competed in spelling bee. The students advanced to the division spelling bee by winning spelling bees in the schools they attend.
