Playing at home this past Saturday, the Mountain Gateway Roadrunners (5-13) rallied from a nine point second half deficit to defeat the Oxford College of Emory University Eagles (10-9) 72-67.
Dae Dae Bowens had an overall great performance for the winning Roadrunners. Bowens finished with a double-double as he had 14 points and 12 rebounds to go along with a team-high seven assists.Â
Bowens was one of four Roadrunners in double figures scoring. Jake Korbakes led the way for the Roadrunners with a game-high 20 points, while Donovan Amason had 15, and Tyriq Brown added 13.Â
The Roadrunners found themselves trailing by nine points at halftime before outscoring the Eagles 48-34 in the second half to rally for the victory.
The Eagles also had four players in double figures. Isaac Snyder led the Eagles with a team-high 16 points. Sean Osei had 13 points, while Justin Whitening (off the bench) had 11, and KJ Walker added 10. Snyder and Osei each had double-doubles.Â
The Roadrunners are back on the basketball court on Tuesday as they host Hocking College at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, the Roadrunners gave up a season-high 127 points in a loss to the number two ranked Division III junior college team, the Sandhills CC Flyers, 127-75.
The Flyers scored 71 points in the second half alone. The 52 point loss is the largest margin this season for the Roadrunners.
Led by a balanced offensive attack, the Flyers had six players in double figures scoring, including 66 points from the bench and three of their six double digit scorers coming off the bench.Â
Joey McMullin led the way for the Eagles off of the bench with a team-high 21 points. Bryan Quiller was the team high starting scorer with 19. LeNijel Robinson and Kendall Wooldridge each had 16 for the Flyers, while Jamori McDougald had 14, and Zacl Sledge added 10.Â
The Roadrunners had three players in double figures, as Bowens and Arnason each had 24 points for the game. Meanwhile, Jaquan Dembo added 10.Â
