Covington, Va. (VR) – The City of Covington wants to make citizens aware that the 2023 Personal Property filing forms have been mailed. These forms are used to assess personal property owned January 1st by the City of Covington residents. They are to be verified by the taxpayer and returned to theĀ Commissioner of the Revenues office with corrections noted, taxpayer signature and phoneĀ number. These forms must be filed January 31st to avoid a late filing penalty. Taxpayers mayĀ file by mail with the return envelope provided, file in person at the Commissioner of RevenueĀ office or use the drop box outside the Treasurerās office. If you use the drop box, please use theĀ envelope provided to ensure proper delivery. If you did not receive your form, please visit theĀ Commissioner of the Revenue office and one can be reprinted.Ā
