MILLBORO — Camp ACCOVAC in Millboro will hold a “Times Like These” Family Camp Oct. 9-11.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Gene Peters, who is a former pastor of Central Advent Christian Church, near Clifton Forge.
Camp ACCOVAC, a Christian camp, conference and retreat center, is operated by the Virginia Advent Christian Conference of Churches.
Family camp will kick off Friday, Oct. 9, with a worship service at 7:30 p.m. The service will be preceded by a spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m.
Music during the event will be led by Dale Muterspaugh and Ed Crisp.
Saturday will feature a 10 a.m. chapel service. The service will be preceded by a 8:30 a.m. breakfast. Lunch will be served following the service at 12:30 p.m.
A pumpkin-carving contest will he held at 4 p.m., followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. Evening worship will take place at 7 p.m. The day will close with a camp fire at 9:30 p.m.
Sunday will begin with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. A Bible study for all ages will begin at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11 a.m. Family camp will close with a 12:30 p.m. luncheon.
Activities during the event will include: hiking, an all-camp game, fishing and a hayride.
Persons attending family camp will be required to wear face coverings and social-distancing guidelines will be observed.
Persons planning to attend should RSVP to allow for adequate planning for accommodations.
