Mr. Bobbie Lee Gillispie, Sr. age 82, of Covington, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 27, 2020, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Shay Gillispie.
Mr. Gillispie was born April 24, 1938 in Wynona, WV, the son of the late James Owen Gillispie and Nellie Smith Gillispie.
He was the owner and operator of Seeya Trucking, Inc. as well a truck driver himself. An avid car and truck enthusiast, Bobbie enjoyed watching NASCAR both on television and live at the racetrack. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Mr. Gillispie is survived by two sons, Bobbie Lee Gillispie, Jr. and wife, Robin of Covington and John Gillispie of Covington; five grandchildren, Heather Gillispie Hicks and husband, Dusty, Courtney Amanda Gillispie Vess and husband, Patrick, Adam Lee Gillispie and wife, Krista, Jared Kurt Gillispie and wife, Tiffany and Charles Bryan Gillispie and wife, Katie; five great grandchildren, Brooklyn Lily Grace Hicks, Savannah Grace Gillispie, Ava Faith Gillispie, Zeke Gillispie and Raelyn Shay Gillispie; two step great grandchildren, Wyatt Randozzo and Smiley Ryan Bowers; a brother-in-law, Curtis McCaleb; a niece, Sherry Shaw and husband, Terry; and two nephews, Brian Gillispie and Michael Gillispie.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Gillispie was preceded in death by an infant great granddaughter, Brynlee Hicks; two sisters, Carolyn Gillispie and Deloris McCaleb; and a half-brother, Harry Walton.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
