Clifton Murder Case Baffling
That Ernest Christian, who shot and seriously wounded Sam Knight when Knight entered his home on Fisher’s Hill, Clifton Forge, and found his wife and Christain in a room together was shot and killed be another inmate of the house and did not commit suicide in the theory on which the Clifton Forge authorities are working today in an effort to solve an apparent tangle in testimony of witnesses. The shooting occurred Wednesday night.

World Reds Call For Iron Unity
The leaders of world communism have called for iron unity of Communists of all countries in a “struggle for common goals.” Peiping Radio broadcast the text of a long communique drawn up on completion of several weeks of talks in Moscow by the top leaders of the Communist-ruled nations.

Polish Airliner Hijacked To Berlin
A security guard hijacked a Polish airliner with 38 people abroad today and forced the pilot to divert the domestic flight to the U.S. Air Force Base in West Berlin, base officials said. It was carrying 31 passengers, four crew members and three security guards when one of the guards seized control on the first leg of the scheduled flight from Wroclaw to Gdansk by way of Warsaw, they said.

Soldiers Wounded In Kuwait
A Kuwaiti traffic policeman shot and seriously wounded two U.S. Army soldiers Thursday on a highway south of here, the Kuwaiti government said. The incident was the latest in a string of attacks on American troops as the United States prepared for a possible war in Iraq. Officials said they had no details about the policeman’s motive.
