TREASURER’S REPORT – The current balances are OTC-$35,278.55 and C&P-$22,028.73. Jaime is shopping around for cheaper insurance.

ECONOMIC RESTRUCTURING
EDC UPDATE – Terri McClung was present.
· Apartments at the YMCA are going ahead with full steam. No pricing established yet, move in should be ready July 2023.
· Gordmans building has no update. He does have a date to do the MOU by.
· The Pad ready site has grading happening soon.
· Good News Christmas Bizarre is December 3rd, also on the same day as the Christmas Parade. They have sold out all slots, we are curious if the Discovery Center could be another location for opening spots. Terri will speak with Darlene S. on this.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE – Hopes to get Josh Taylor to the next meeting. The deadline for Holiday Happenings is November 4th, we will get all Dec. events to them by then.
BUILDING REHABILITATION – No updates at this time.
INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE & TECHNOLOGY DISCOVERY CENTER – We need greater social media presence. The meeting spaces upstairs can also host birthday parties as well. The downstairs room is $50, and the upstairs is $150. FREE to civic group benefactors. Volunteers are needed!
-The DC is the host for our event on November 19th, Muffins and Meadmosas.
PROJECT SPARKLE- Hopefully an update will be announced soon
PROMOTIONS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
FARMER’S MARKET – They had their community yard sale/Octoberfest on October 22.
HOMETOWN HALLOWEEN – October 28th, 5-7PM. Cary Linkswiler is coordinating this event, thank you Cary! She is working closely with Parks and Rec which is going well! The trophies, stickers and gift cards have been purchased. OTC will have a tent at Hometown Halloween. There will be a petting zoo behind the ‘LOVE’ sign. You can start at Court Street to register!
DOWNTOWN GHOST STORY WALK- The first two nights, October 21 & 22 very closely sold out. 21st had 30 tickets + 2 giveaway tickets. 22nd had 29 tickets sold. After hearing such good feedback and demand we are having one final night on October 29th, tickets can be purchased for $10 at Highlands Community Bank in Covington and the Chamber. $3 from each ticket went towards Nowhere Brewing.
CORK AND PORK- June 2-3, 2023. The judge’s class should be the first or second week of February. A few people thought of some other food vendors to try and reach out to. We had some inspiration from another event, of things we could add during the festivities of C&P.
FIREMEN’S FESTIVAL-With carnival games in Rosedale Park, also set up during C&P. May 31-June 3, 2023. Several of us have tried to get in contact with Cole Amusement, Terri and Jennifer will try as well. We now have their phone number which should be a big help!
CHAMBER MARATHON- June 3, will be during the same weekend as C&P. Packet pick up will be at the Farmers Market
MUFFINS AND MEADMOSAS- November 19th. 10AM-12PM. Hosted at the Discovery Center. The ladies at Formals and Florals on Main will provide a morning of fun making a Christmas themed round wooden door hanger. Kanawha Café along with Honeycomb Grove Meadery will also be involved. We will need to purchase an ABC license for this. Our price is not yet determined.
PARKS AND REC EVENTS -Hometown Christmas Event/Tree Lighting November 27th at 6PM.
-Santa 5K at Jackson River Sports Complex November 27th at 2PM.
CHRISTMAS PARADE- December 3rd, 2022. Line up begins at 4PM and starts at 5PM. You can register on the OTC website, completely free. We have confirmed Santa for the parade! Our theme for this year is “Christmas Traditions”, anything goes EXCEPT for dressing as Santa. An award ceremony will happen after the parade in the Discovery Center.
OLD BUSINESS
The CHS All Alumni Reunion went very well at both events. We sold around 240 ornaments and continue to sell them the website.
NEW BUSINESS
-We are in search of a new board member! Send your applications to Rylee Reynolds.
