The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism conducted the ribbon cutting celebration for Mountain Field Market’s new location at 525 Main St. in Clifton Forge on Aug., 16.
Teresa Hammond, executive director of the Chamber, welcomed Ashley and Ron Bennett, and their two young children, Daisy and Baker, to the new location that previously served customers as the Club Car.
Kathleen All, president-elect of the Chamber, welcomed the Bennetts, and Covington Mayor Tom Sibold thanked them for locating in Clifton Forge and invited them to expand their business to Covington.
Jeff Irvine, mayor of Clifton Forge, thanked them for the service and products they offer customers in Clifton Forge, and Terri McClung, representative of the Economic Development Corporation, noted the importance of locating their business in the Alleghany Highlands.
Ashley made closing remarks and thanked everyone for being there to participate in the ribbon cutting celebration. She then completed the celebration by cutting the ribbon.
Mountain Field Market stresses that it sells humanely raised local beef, pork, chicken and locally farmed trout.
In a prepared statement, Ashley rendered, “We also have fresh produce, baked goods, fresh made sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread, cheeses, jams and jellies, pickled items and so much more.”
In a flyer provided to those who attended the ribbon cutting celebration, the store’s business hours are printed as follows: Wed.-Fri., 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sat. 10:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.
