Dear Editor.
“Moral principles do not depend on a majority vote. Wrong is wrong even if everybody is wrong. Right is right even if nobody is right.” – Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.
The second coming of Jesus Christ is of little consequence to an individual. Of greater consequence is one’s face to face with God at one’s death, in Catholic parlance, one’s ‘particular judgement’. At this ‘time’, one’s life will be judged, determining ‘where’ one will spend eternity: in, or away from, the presence of God, commonly referred to as heaven or hell.
One’s opinion of right or wrong will hold no sway on that judgement day. God had/has already informed us of what is right and wrong through His Church. ‘Works’ do matter, contrary to the opinion of some (Matthew 25: 31-46), works that manifest one’s faith and grace supplied by our Lord. We offer our bodies to be the hands, feet, eyes, and voice of the Lord our King.
Abortion is murder. A gynecologist treats two patients when tending to a pregnant mother. The only time a baby must be ‘aborted’ is if the child truly endangers a mothers life, NOT her health (so muddily, if at all, defined). One such instance is when there is an ectopic pregnancy, where the newly-conceived child did not make it all the way down the fallopian the to implant in the womb. The child must be removed to save the life of the mother, or both with die. This would not be murder, only a sad, but necessary step to save Mom’s life.
The Supreme Court (SCOTUS) decided to overturn Roe v Wade as part of their Dobbs v Jackson decision. The state of Mississippi can Constitutionally regulate when an abortion can occur, in this case, not after 15 weeks gestation. This is only a partial, but immense, ‘win’ for our unborn. Abortion before 15 weeks gestation is STILL murdering a human being. Zygote, embryo, fetus, baby, child, adolescent, et cetera, are only phases in a person’s life. One is a person/human being from conception/fertilization through death.
Over 62 million babies have been legally surgically murdered and dismembered in the USA since January 1973. It is NOT a right of a mother to have her baby extracted in pieces and discarded like trash. – Democrats take note. Those that protest for the ‘right to choose’ (to have one’s baby killed) are acting as pawns for Satan. Ironically, they confirm that they THEMSELVES did not have the ‘right’ to be born…
Will each of us be asked by Jesus how much time/effort we spent in our lifetime to stem the non-stop tide of child murder? Will this be compared to how much time we spent on our smart phones/computers/social media? I don’t know, but it is something to seriously ponder. May God help us and save our country.
