Boys Home was excited to welcome Hampton native B.K. Fulton as a guest speaker. B.K. is an accomplished author, filmmaker, philanthropist and entrepreneur. He is best known at Boys Home for his children’s book series, “Mr. Business: The Adventures of Little B.K” and “Life in the Middle.” The books tell the story of a young B.K. He was motivated to create books featuring a child that looked like him, believing that students feel inspired seeing themselves portrayed in print. The students had access to explore the books prior to his arrival. Following his speech, they lined up to have their books signed by the author. B.K. delivered a message of inspiration to the students and staff. He was transparent about his road to success and the failures he encountered along the way. His Christian faith helped guide him as he has entered new ventures. He challenged the students by saying, “You woke up today, you’re on the hook! Make the day great and be the best version of yourself.” B.K. concluded his message by stating, “You are enough! No matter where you started, you decide where you finish.” Boys Home is grateful for B.K.’s visit! He aligns with the values of Boys Home as a person who has dedicated his life to inspiring others and positively impacting the communities he visits.
