A person was arrested Monday following a report of a medical emergency at Tractor Supply east of Covington.
The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene at 2:30 p.m. and a rescue squad treated a female for a medical issue and transported her to LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany in Low Moor for further evaluation.
Deputies questioned a male who was present in the vehicle the woman was traveling in. The male was exhibiting suspicious behavior.
After further investigation, the male, who is from Chesterfield County, was charged with being drunk in public, possession of a Schedule I/II drug, carrying a concealed weapon, and carrying a firearm while being in possession of a Schedule I/II drug.
The male, whose name is not available, was being held at the Alleghany Regional Jail in Covington Tuesday night.
