CLIFTON FORGE — Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church will open its new Kathleen McMillion Clothing Closet to the public on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 9 a.m.
The closet will offer new and gently used clothing at no cost, in multiple sizes for men, women, and children.
The Kathleen McMillion Clothing Closet will be open on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The entrance is on the Church Street side of the building. The clothing closet is open to residents of Clifton Forge and the surrounding Alleghany Highlands and their families.
The Rev. Paul Brokaw, the pastor of Clifton Forge Presbyterian, said there was a vision to convert what was an empty classroom and it developed into an act of love that led to what is now the Kathleen McMillion Clothing Closet.
“The ladies and gentlemen in charge of the new room, now have room to organize all the clothing and shoes, and allows for easy shopping throughout the closet,” Brokaw said.
“Having an organized closet allows for ample hanging of the clothing by size, by type, and by season. This will make our intake process a lot smoother and customers will be able to pick out the clothing they like as well. Many donations of time, manpower, furnishings, and clothing items, make this a wonderful place to come and fulfill the needs of a single person or the entire family,” he said.
Clifton Forte Presbyterian is located at 507 Church Street, across the street from the Clifton Forge Public Library.
Light refreshments will be served on days the clothing closet is open.
