Storytelling Festival: The first Storytelling Festival will be held at the Clifton Forge Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Presenters include Martha Nicholson, Lisa Hicks, Karen Kuhn and Gwen Brown. Alleghany Iron: Al Kresse, C&O Railroad author and historian, will give a presentation called “Alleghany Iron” at the Clifton Forge Public Library from 7:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Yard Sale: Faith Baptist Church will hold a mission team yard sale at Mountain View Elementary School from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Bingo: There will be a Bingo at the VFW Post 1033 on Dolly Ann Drive. Lunch begins at 1 p.m. and Bingo begins at 2 p.m. Proceeds benefit local children through the Snack Pack Program. Call 965-3582 to put your name on the advance purchase list.
Fish Fry: Central Advent Christian Church will have a fish fry and silent auction from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall.
Trail Ride: There will be a benefit trail ride for Carla Hepler Abate beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Loving’s Camp in Covington. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. and Soutbound Trio will provide entertainment from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. For more information and to RSVP, call Tangie Dressler at 958-5849.
Clothes Closet: Persinger Memorial United Methodist Church on Llama Drive will hold a clothes closet from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Yard Sale: There will be a Relay for Life Yard and Bake Sale from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church on the Corner of Fudge and Highland, rain or shine.
Yard Sale: Lone Star Advent Christian Church will have a yard sale from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Sharon Fire House on Longdale Furnace Road. Food will be solde with take out orders available.

Covington Woman’s Club: The Covington Woman’s Club will meet at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Speaker will be Aimee Moore of Safehomes.
Sunday, April 17
Memorial Service: Carpenters Battery Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Sara Rice Pryor Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will hold their annual Confederate Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at the Confederate Soldier Monument at the Alleghany Courthouse. Rick Armstrong will be the guest speaker.
