Today’s Headline: Play Presented By Iron Gate Faculty.
The Iron Gate faculty presented their play to a large number in the Odd Fellows’ hall Friday night, May 15.
The play, “The Chintz Cottage,” was overflowing with wit and merriment.
Commencement exercises at Dunlap High School opened last week with freshmen and sophomore classes entertaining the juniors and seniors with a most delightful outing at Dunlap Bathing Beach.

Today’s Headline: Estimates Given To Fire Damage At Collins Hotel.
Hale Collins, a stakeholder in Hotel Collins Inc., which owns the Collins Hotel, said recently that he has obtained estimates of the damage done to the building by a fire on March 11 from three separate sources. Two estimates of the cost repairs were $15,000 and the third was $16,000, Collins stated.
He added that, pending a reply from the company with which the building was insured, which has been notified of the estimates, no plans have been made to repair the damage.

Today’s Headline: Man Files Lawsuit Following Accident.
A Covington man has filed a $250,000 lawsuit against a woman for damages allegedly resulting from a car accident which occurred in October 1984.
The suit was filed by Harry Wayne Reid of 420 Riverside Avenue.
Members of the Covington Lions Club are conducting their annual broom and mop sale beginning the first of next week.

Today’s Headline: Clifton Forge Rescue Squad To Hold Open House.
In observance of EMS week, the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad will hold an open house Saturday at the squad building on Commercial Avenue in Clifton Forge.
Pam Myers was recently honored as Wal-Mart’s Teacher of the Year during a ceremony held at Edgemont Primary School.
