Five members of the Covington Fire Department were injured early yesterday morning near Roanoke while en route to Martinsville where they planned to inspect some fire equipment.
Miss Alice Pollard returned last evening from Danville where she spent the weekend visiting friends.

Alleghany County’s Board of Supervisors devoted most of Wednesday’s assembly to the annual road meeting and to hear a request for support of the proposed Alleghany County-Covington library.
The annual meeting of the Alleghany TB Association was held Wednesday night at the Vepco Building in Clifton Forge.
