Today’s Headline: Singing Contest Successful Event.
The singing contest which was sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Association in Jeter Auditorium last evening was a most enjoyable event and was attended by quite a representative gathering of citizens.
The Advisory Board of the Home Demonstration Club held a meeting Wednesday, August 15 in Covington at 2 o’clock. Mrs. R.D. Kyle presided.

Today’s Headline: Council Hopes For Added Regard To School Program.
Members of city council and the Covington School Board last night expressed concern in regard to the small number of persons attending the series of public meetings now being held under the sponsorship of the two bodies.
Mrs. John Biggs Jr. spent the day Friday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Biggs Sr. of Covington.

Today’s Headline: Verge Street Improvement Project Nears Completion.
With the exception of some paving of additional streets and the demolition of several houses in the area, the five-year, $1.8 million Verge Street Improvement Project in Clifton Forge stands completed.
Youth Sunday will be observed at Pine Street Baptist Church Sunday.
