HOT SPRINGS – The Bath County girls tennis team improved to 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in Pioneer District play with a 7-2 win over Parry McCluer Wednesday.
Amelia Walters, Melanie Baughan, Sarah Wright, Courtney Maliwauki and Rebekah Blake all picked up singles wins for the Lady Chargers.
Walters teamed up with Jennifer Gutting to post a win at the No. 1 doubles and Maliwauki and Rachel Robertson posted a win at the No. 3 doubles.
“A great win for us. The girls stepped up big time and got this district win,” said Bath County coach Mike Bollinger. “Parry McCluer was missing their No. 5 player so it will be tougher when we go there in May, but I’m really pleased with everyone’s efforts.”
