Today’s Headline: Arrange Program For Commencement In Clifton Forge.
With the Clifton Forge High School commencement scarcely three weeks away, plans are nearing completion for the final exercises at which the largest class of students ever to graduate in Clifton Forge will receive diplomas. Seventy-eight seniors are at present eligible for graduation.
Billy Wood and Charlie Armentrout, VPI students, are spending a few days in Clifton Forge in the homes of their parents.

Today’s Headline: General Revenue Of City To Be Slighty Reduced.
An appropriation ordinance calling for a revised general revenue of $939,421 and total expenditures of $1.5 million in 1961-62 and a tax levy preserving the existing rate of $3 per $100 of assessed value received first-reading approval by Covington City Council at last night’s meeting.
An explosion originating from a gas stove caused considerable damage to the fellowship hall and kitchen of the A.R. Presbyterian Church in Edgemont last night.
