ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (VR) – According to the Franklin County Sheriffs Office Official Facebook Page:

Updated post – 12:12pm – Law Enforcement and School Administration are working diligently to investigate and clear this situation. This takes time and a lot of work to ensure that these buildings, campuses and threat are able to be cleared. At this time, all students and staff remain safely at their schools. School Administration are working on lifting the lock down status. Please be as patient with them as you can.
Further will be released as it comes available.

There is a heavy police presence at the Franklin County High School investigating a threat call. The High School, the Franklin Center, the Middle School, Gereau Center, Rocky Mount Elementary, Lee Waid Elementary and Christian Heritage Academy are all on lock down or hold in place status while investigating.
 
At this time, all students and staff are safe within the schools.
PARENTS – Please do not come to campus at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
