COVINGTON, VA (VR) – The Outreach Ministry of Living Word Assembly of God will host a Pack the Pantry Fundraiser on Saturday, October 10. The Hot Dog and Bake Sale will also include a Silent Auction. Both will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Pavilion (across from Wendy’s) in Covington.

Items in the silent auction include: Michael Kors backpack; Michael Kors wallet; Vera Bradley purse; Scentsy basket; Salt Cave and Spa gift certificate; original canvas paintings by local West Virginia artist; and more. Opening bids are set to give everyone a chance to take home something special.
All proceeds will benefit the church’s Seniors 55+ Food Pantry.

“Our goal in this fundraiser, and as a church,” says Lee Maxey, pastor of Living Word Assembly of God, “is to help those who are in need, those who may have limited resources. We feel this is one of the best ways to share God’s love.”

Carol Young, president of the Outreach Ministry, adds, “It is a privilege to serve the seniors in our community through our monthly food pantry distribution.”

For further information about this event, or to obtain an application for assistance, contact the church at 540-965-4559.
