COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Foster’s Closet will offer free clothing Thursday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 185 N. Maple Ave.

The nonprofit clothing closet is based in Wytheville and operated by the Presbyterian Children’s Home of the Highlands. Children in foster care help run the closet, learning its daily operations while serving the community.

For the Covington event, the children will bring a truckload of clean, gently used clothing packed in totes and displayed on racks. They will handle the setup and clothing distribution at the church.

The Presbyterian Children’s Home of the Highlands is directed by Billy Rice, a Covington native who worked for many years at Boys Home.

All clothing at the event is free.
