COVINGTON, VA (VR) – The VA250 Mobile Museum Experience, titled “Out of Many, One,” travels across Virginia in an expandable tractor-trailer to commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding.
VA250 Committee Chairman Terry Austin, the Virginia House of Delegates, and the VA250 Commission set a goal for all Virginia middle schools to host the VA250 Mobile Museum in an effort to educate middle school students about the importance of this very special year in our nation’s history.
Covington Middle School will host the museum on September 3 and 4, giving its 600 students the opportunity to learn about our nation’s 250th birthday. This is part of the school’s special VA250 celebration on Friday, September 4.
The museum will be open from 8:15 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. School students will tour the museum between 8:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. The mobile museum will remain open until 6:00 p.m. for all area residents who would like to experience and explore the history of America.
