PRINCETON, N.J. – Two goals late in the first half were enough for Princeton to drop James Madison women’s soccer, 2-0, at Roberts Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Dukes (1-3-0) were outshot 16-4 and fell behind on shots on goal, 8-2. Ginny Lackey and Audrey Orrock each attempted a shot on goal. Tali Rovner and Bianca Raskin also took shots. Sofia DeCerb got the start and spent all 90 minutes between the posts saving five shots.
Princeton (2-1-0) was led by a Brace from Isabella Garces. Cecilia Cerrone got the start at goalkeeper, playing 45 minutes before being replaced at halftime.

How it Happened
- The Tigers began applying pressure in the 12th minute, attempting a pair of shots that sailed off target.
- The Dukes found their first scoring opportunity in the 19th minute; however, Tali Rovner’s shot missed high.
- Princeton sent two shots on goal in the 35th minute, with both resulting in saves, before finally capitalizing in the 39th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Tigers ended the half on the offensive, scoring again in the 43rd minute to hold a 2-0 lead at the break.
- JMU placed its first shot on goal in the 47th minute, a strike from Orrock that was saved.
- The Tigers rifled shots on goal in the 52nd and 64th minutes, with both being saved by DeCerb.
- The Dukes saw an opening in the 88th minute, with Lackey taking a shot on goal that was saved.
