COVINGTON, Va. (VR) - The Covington Lumberjacks will welcome Special Olympics athletes to Casey Field on Sunday, June 14, for a memorable evening of baseball and community spirit.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. as Special Olympics participants take part in several pregame activities. Athletes will sing the National Anthem, join Lumberjacks players on the field during introductions, and have the opportunity to throw a ceremonial first pitch.
The event is designed to celebrate inclusion and provide a special experience for participating athletes while bringing the community together through baseball. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and help recognize the Special Olympics athletes as they take center stage alongside the Lumberjacks.

The Covington Lumberjacks Bark in the Park night has been rescheduled for June 16 at 6:30 p.m. after the original game was cancelled due to weather. Fans are encouraged to bring donations of dog and cat food for the Alleghany Humane Society, which will also be on hand with adoptable pets. Guests are welcome to bring their four-legged friends as long as they are on a leash.

Wild Trails Music Festival to Take Place Next Week at State Fairgrounds

LEWISBURG, WV (VR) =  West Virginia’s largest country music festival is set to take place next week, from June 18-20, 2026, at the State Fairgrounds in Lewisburg, WV!

Headliners for the 2026 festival include Koe Wetzel, Tucker Wetmore, Ian Munsick, and Shane Smith & The Saints, joined by an all-star lineup including Kolby Cooper, Kaitlin Butts, Larry Fleet, Bayker Blankenship, Evan Honer, The Creekers, The Jack Wharff Band, and more.

Tickets are available now at wildtrailswv.com or by calling 1-800-314-ETIX (3849). Three-day passes and VIP packages are currently on sale, as well as single-day tickets! All tickets include free tent camping. Full hook up RV sites are available by calling 304-645-1090.

To celebrate our community and those that keep us safe, Wild Trails Festival will also welcome all first responders, nurses, active military and Veterans in for FREE on Thursday, June 18. Those wishing to attend may also purchase up to four companion tickets at a discounted rate!

“We work a lot with our local first responders and know just how much they put into their communities each and every day,” Collins stated. “We hope they are able to join us and celebrate on June 18.”

Building on a successful inaugural year that welcomed visitors from more than 40 states and multiple Canadian provinces, Wild Trails Festival continues to grow as one of the region’s premier summer music destinations. The event not only delivers unforgettable performances but also showcases West Virginia’s natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Festival-goers can enjoy on-site camping, a variety of food and craft vendors, and easy access to nearby hiking, fishing, and local attractions throughout the Greenbrier Valley-making Wild Trails a true destination experience.
