FLOYD COUNTY, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany Cougar boys tennis team is tearing through the competition with unmatched intensity and skill! This squad has not just played—they’ve dominated, blasting their way to a perfect 13-0 record and an undefeated 7-0 run in the Three Rivers District.

In a high-stakes showdown against a fierce Floyd team, the Cougars jumped out to a commanding 2-1 lead in doubles and refused to let up. Floyd, one of the toughest challengers all season, fell 11-1, proving that Alleghany is the team to beat. This victory wasn’t just a win—it was a statement: the Cougars are champions.

Coach Seth Davis couldn’t be prouder: “I’m so proud of the guys. Floyd is the best team we’ve played and we stayed focused and really played well. Winning a district title is something they’ll always remember. Now we need to get ready for regions.”

With the district title secured, the Cougars’ sights are locked on their next challenge—the region quarterfinals at home on May 30th. The energy is electric, the confidence is sky-high, and this team is ready to turn up the heat even more. Congratulations guys!
