Walter Persinger

Mr. Walter Leo Persinger, age 79, of Covington died Friday, May 16, 2025, at The Springs Nursing Center, Hot Springs.

Mr. Persinger was born April 28, 1946, in Alleghany County, the son of the late William Henry Persinger and Mamie Frances Tucker Persinger. He was a lifetime resident of this community. Walter served his country as a member of the United States Army. During his working career, he was employed
as a equipment operator with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for a number of years.

Mr. Persinger is survived by a brother, David Randolph Persinger of Bens Run, Covington; a sister, Corine Persinger of Vinton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Persinger was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Persinger and Lonnie Persinger and three sisters, Claire Persinger, Betty Jane Beadles and Lauraine Lackey.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
